As Head teacher and governor, I am passionate about providing children with the best possible education, and I am a strong advocate for promoting wellbeing and diversity in our school along with creating an environment that supports children to become the best they can be! As the Head teacher, I am responsible for the overall running of the school. I am also responsible for the recruitment and development of staff, leading the school's curriculum and monitoring the school's progress. As governor, I am involved in strategic decisions and work closely with the school's governing body to ensure that all policies and procedures are followed and to ensure the school meets its targets. In my spare time, I enjoy going to concerts and theatre shows and travelling.

I joined the governing board in April 2021 although I was previously on the governing board for a number of years. I have worked in West Boldon Primary for just over 30 years, and I’m at my happiest when in school surroundings. I am recently widowed and have two grown children and I have just become a Grandma!

My interests are singing in a choir, gardening and travel. I am a District Beaver Leader at Tynemouth Scouts where my late husband also served as a Scout Leader. For over 40 years I have participated in local theatres operatic society.

As part of the governing board I want to make a positive contribution to the school, helping the school, children and staff to flourish.

I am passionate about West Boldon Primary, which for many years has felt like an extension of my family and friends.
