ARC 1 have been learning about the Hindu festival of colour, Holi. We learnt about some of the traditions and then made our own brightly coloured splatter paintings
Arc2 are really enjoying their Dimensions topic all about Africa. Today they researched one of the big 5 African animals using non fiction books and the internet to find out about their appearance, diet and habitat. The children then produced excellent fact files about their chosen animals, showing lots of independence when writing.
Some of our ARC 1 children posted our letters to Santa this morning. We were lucky enough to bump into an elf postman too! He showed us what the inside of the postbox looks like. We watched as he loaded our letters into the van and they began their journey to the North Pole.
ARC 2 children had a lovely, chilly afternoon at Forest School. They explored the new mud kitchen and worked as a team to build some great dens.
The children from the ARC enjoyed their first joint COJO session this week. Our mission was to carry as many apples as possible from the woods to Granny’s house in five minutes.
Arc2 just love their cooking lessons! So far we have followed recipes to make pizzas, cheese scones and a cake! We even help to set the table, wash the dishes and clean up afterwards!
The children in the ARC have had a lot of fun in the garden with our new resources. The rocket launcher was a clear hit!! Lots of negotiating, communicating, turn taking and team work going on!
The children from ARC 2 have had a lovely afternoon in the Secret Garden. They helped to tidy the area, weave and trim the willow fence and find bugs. We even found a few frog friends!
