Year 4 had a visit from a storyteller that helped them create story beads to retell the birth story. They went through the story together adding a bead for every stage.
The stages were as follows:
- A blue bead for the world that God created.
- A heart bead to show that God loved everything he had created.
- A metal bead to represent money and the greed that people developed.
- A white and gold bead for the angel that told Mary of her baby to be born.
- Another blue bead for Mary as she is depicted in blue.
- A wooden bead for Joseph who was a carpenter.
- A green bead to remind us of the Shepherds green hills and fields and that Jesus would be a shepherd of people.
- A star bead to remind us of the star that lead the way.
- A gold bead to remind us of the first gift brought by the Magi.
- A purple bead for Frankincense, the second gift, used whilst you worship.
- An amber bead for Myrrh, the third gift, which was used to heal and prepare the dead.
- A white bead for the pure and perfect baby.
- Lastly, a ring to close the bead string symbolising peace and love for without love everything falls apart.
