Today Year 5 attended the annual Castle View Academy cricket tournament in beautiful sunshine. Having attended a few weeks after school training we came 4th out of 8 teams. Winning 3 of the 5 games played. Well played Yr5! 🏏☀️
Year 3 attended the Benchball Competition this afternoon at Boldon School, where they played 3 games against Biddick Hall Juniors, Hedworth Lane Primary and East Boldon Juniors.
The Year 3 staff are so very proud of all of the children who attended. They represented our school amazingly, showed excellent sportsmanship and even though they had only practised briefly, both teams came THIRD! 🥉✨

On January 24th the Year 5 Dodgeball team attended the annual festival at Boldon School. They faced off against Hedworth Lane, East Boldon, Forest View and Biddick Hall in a bid for the much coveted gold medals.
Selected at random from widespread interest in Year 5, the side have been attending a few weeks of after-school sessions with Mr Houmark. Designed to get them into the game, working as a team and planning their tactics for use against other schools.
After a tough start against both East Boldon teams, they fought back with wins against Biddick Hall and Forest View. Eventually finishing 5th in the group. Over the coming week, the school will decide upon a new sport to offer after-school for KS2.
On October 21st pupils were selected by Mr Houmark and John from Westoe RFC to attend the annual Boldon School rugby festival.
Games were played in a groups system with the Year 5’s taking on East Boldon, Hedworthfield and Forest View. They won all three to top the group.
It was fantastic to see the skills taught in Friday PE sessions pay off in proper tag games.
On October 20th Year 4 attended the annual football festival at Boldon School. Having been split into three teams they played against East Boldon, Hedworth Lane, Hedworthfield and Ashley Primary.
After winning all 5 matches, West Boldon ‘C’ won the group to claim their winners medals (pictured).
During October the Year 5/6 Football side got back up and running. They’ve played three matches in the Newton League held at Boldon School. Coached this year by Mr Houmark and Miss Fraser.
A squad of 14 children were selected to attend the training group which has recently finished for the winter but will return in February time.
